The Spanish program in Kindergarten thru 5th grade introduces students to basic expressions, the alphabet, colors, numbers, songs and culture through games and fun activities. In the Middle School (6th-8th grade) students Study Spanish-1 over a three year period using a Spanish Level 1 Textbook and workbook from espanol.santillanausa.com. Students are also assigned a Quizlet account to reinforce the vocabulary through games, flashcards and verbal pronunciation. This allows them to have access from any computer at school or at home. Students also learn about Hispanic Heritage and Culture through stories and documentaries. All the classes learn and celebrate annual holidays: The Day of the Dead , Christmas in Latin America, Semana Santa (Easter), and Cinco de Mayo. Overall, the Spanish program is designed to introduce students to speaking, listening, writing and reading early on and continue until they graduate in 8th grade.
