SPANISH ENRICHMENT

The Spanish program at SJS is an enrichment program. Students from K to 3^rd grade receive one hour of Spanish per week, 4^th and 5^th grade receive 45 minutes per week. Lessons are unit based and developed in accordance with standards from the American Council on Teaching Foreign Languages. These standards focus on what are referred to as the five “C” goal areas, they are Communication, Cultures, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities. Our program is designed to teach students the basics of Spanish, such as colors, numbers, days of the week, etc., but additionally to help them become better thinkers, better learners, and better citizens of the world.
